What is an Interop ID and how does it work. Is it required? Why or why not? What does an appropriate Interop ID look like, i.e. numbers and letters, names, numbers?

Interop ID is a field that is used for various integration purposes. It is meant to serve as a user-defined unique key to map objects in Four51 to an external system.

For example, if you're using Four51's OrderRequest service to receive orders into your order management systems, Interop ID will be passed in the XML data, allowing you to map the items ordered in Four51 to items in order management system.

The Four51 application allows you to map an Interop ID for almost every object (but not all) in the system: Addresses, Cost Centers, Products, Users, etc.

It is not generally required, but is necessary if you are using any of our integration services: OrderRequest, Order Validation, User Web Service, Cost Center Web Service, Product Web Service, etc.

An Interop ID can be any string up to 100 characters. So it could be something like "ABC123", etc.
