I'm trying to make the following approval process work, but every scenario I try to set up alerts Don that he needs to approve the orders:
a.) Katie approves all orders for the Company
b.) Don approves orders for ONLY Katie and Laura
The fact that Don will approve orders that Katie submits or approves is really not working here... groups didn't seem to do the trick... any work-around? Or is this just not possible?
Thanks!! _________________ |

I might need to know how you have your grop setup a little more before I am able to help you. However if I were setting this up this is how I would do it.
Set up three groups.
Standard Buyers Group with submit order for approval perm
Katie and Laura Group with standard po and submit for approval perm
Don Group
I know that it seems silly to add a group for just Don but to me it makes it easier to changes people's roles if there is a personnel change at a later date.
First Rule should read:
Order is submitted or approved by Standard Buyers Group
Require approval by Katie and Laura Group
Second Rule should read:
Order is submitted or approved by Katie and Laura Group
Require approval by Don Group
after earlier rules have been satisfied
This SHOULD work. However the only caveat is that any order that Katie and Laura approves need to be entered with a Standard payment method. Any order that they would need to send to Don would need to use the submit for approval payment method.
Now regarding how I understand approval rules this should work. However I am sure there may be a more efficient way. That's just the way I would do it.

Okay! This is great! I'll give it a try here shortly, and I imagine I'll know within the next few days if its working as they need it to.
Thank you SOOO much!! _________________ |
